History

When Philip Attard Snr founded Attrans in 1976, he was one of the first ever Maltese that had turned overland driving into a commercial activity. In fact Mr. Attard started as a sole trader importing machinery and vehicles from the United Kingdom, driving them to the South of Italy and shipping them on the only ro-ro service available at that time. After a few of these trips, several other importers approached him to move their cargo from North Italy and United Kingdom to Malta. Within a short time, Attrans was formed as a 100% Maltese privately owned transport company.

Since then, the company has developed into a fully fledged international transport operation with an international workforce based in Malta as well as overseas, many of whom have been employed with the company for many years, some since the late 1970's.
