Our Fleet

Hazardous Cargo

All Attrans drivers are in possession of the 'ADR Certificate for Drivers of Vehicles Carrying Dangerous Goods' issued by the Malta Transport Authority (ADT) or by other EU Member States. This certificate is valid for five years, therefore the company ensures that drivers attend a refresher course during the fourth year before the expiry of their current certificate.

Our drivers are trained and certified up to European traffic regulations standard to carry ADR cargo, since they undergo training which educates them on how to handle hazordous material properly during transport, loading and unloading. As a tranpsort operator Attrans is obliged to ascertain that the dangerous goods to be carried are authorised for carriage by the ADR and that the prescribed documentation is on board the transport. The driver is responsible to check that the vehicle and the loads have no obvious defects. Additionally, all the danger labels and markings prescribed shoud be affixed to the vehicles.

It is also the company's repsonsibility to ensure that employees who load or unload dangerous goods, must also receive training in the requirements governng the carriage of such goods appropriate to their responsibility and duties.

Every vehicle is fully equipped with comprehensive haz pack kit complete with fire extinguishers and protective clothing.
