Desk Sales Executive

Attrans Ltd is an international haulier for transporting and forwarding to and from Malta, Europe and North Africa. We provide weekly groupage transport, temperature-controlled transport and refrigerated transport, project and exceptional transport.

In view of the group’s expansion, a vacancy for a full-time Desk Sales Executive has arisen. The chosen candidate would sell / promote the Company’s products and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding customer requirements and presenting appropriate solutions to conclude sales.
  • Develop new and maintain existing customer relationships.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone calls and emails.
  • Cold calling with potential customers to prospect for new business.
  • Responding to incoming email and phone enquiries.
  • Gathering market and customer information.
  • Negotiate and liaise with foreign agents on price, costs, delivery and specifications.
  • Advice on forthcoming service developments.
  • Liaise with agents to check the progress of existing transport orders.
  • Gain a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements.
  • Make accurate, rapid cost calculations and provide customers with quotations.
  • Create quotations, and consignments and send booking forms from the freight system to relevant parties.
  • Attend team meetings and share best practices with colleagues.
  • Seek customers in company target markets through research and direct contact with potential customers.
  • Analyse statistics or other data to determine the level of customer service that the organisation is providing.
  • Maintain any customer feedback survey and produce an overall analysis to monitor customer satisfaction.
  • Support managers and colleagues.

Personal skills:

  • Build relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance.
  • Customer-centric; team-oriented.
  • Negotiating and presentation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, plus a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite are required.
  • Very effective organizational skills.
  • Requirements for this position:
  • A' level standard education.
  • Previous experience in clerical work will be considered an asset.
  • Good communication in Maltese, English language and preferably even Italian.
  • Excellent telephone handling skills.
  • Time management, organisational and planning skills.
  • Flexible.
  • Capable to work under pressure.
  • Capable to work part as a team.
